Hi, I’m Derrick
Product leader. Culture preservationist. Perpetual experimenter.
About Me
Born and raised in Ghana, I’ve spent seven years crafting products across three continents. From selling laptop stickers and women’s heels at university while studying Electrical Engineering, and selling breakfast while working as a research and teaching assistant, to helping companies scale a $50M marketplace across 47 African countries, achieve Product Hunt #1, and serve 1M+ users globally—I’ve learned that great products solve real problems while honouring cultural context.
Now based in Málaga, I lead product at Mentorjam and build Modatongue—a platform proving technology can amplify heritage rather than erase it. My approach is meticulous, daring, and human-first.
When I’m not designing systems or debugging code, you’ll find me cooking Ghanaian dishes, at concerts, exploring Spanish football culture, or planning my next adventure with loved ones.
